One of the fastest rising stars in the world of dance music over the last two years has been Hannah Wants. Her irrepressible and intoxicating take on house and bass music has been destroying dance floors around the country, leading to her increased notoriety as both a DJ and producer to watch.

Recent times have seen her star alongside the likes of Annie Mac, Justin Martin, SBTRKT, Roska, Oneman, Magnetic Man and XXXY. The Birmingham based self taught DJ has also been gaining regular play on BBC Radio One, and from industry heavyweights such as Claude Vonstroke and Justin Martin.

With a strong ambition to build her ever growing status as a unique, credible and standout DJ/artist, 2013 is shaping up to be her best yet! She is a crowd pleaser and with the incredible success of her recent gigs in the Midlands, dance fans are in for a treat.

Hannah Wants is a self-taught house music DJ from Birmingham. Her unique mixes often mix a variety of house genres but her notorious style is heavily ‘bass’ influenced.

Having been brought up in a musically orientated family Hannah was surrounded by a mixture of sounds such as Soul, R&B, Alternative Rock, Indie and 80’s/90’s house and electro from a very early age and her passion for music was effortlessly established.

Her desire to become a DJ continued to escalate and she soon developed a love and interest in the late 90’s/early 2000’s house, speed/UK garage genres. On her seventeenth birthday was fortunate enough to receive her first set of vinyl decks. With nothing but a pair of Technics, Allen and Heath mixer and an ever-expanding cross-genre vinyl collection Hannah found her talent.

Hannah commented;”   I first started DJing around 2002. I started playing (and still do play) Speed Garage, UK Garage and Bassline House and I think my current sound and style is massively emulated by those genres.”
In 2010 Hannah decided to devote the summer to Ibiza in a bold attempt to gain DJ experience, musical knowledge and a satisfying reputation. With her unique style she quickly made a name for herself gaining a residencies, winning three DJ competitions and playing at numerous clubs, bars and boat parties across the isle including Eden, Es Paradis, and Space. It was in Ibiza that Hannah secured her first UK residency for one of the Midlands’ largest events GLAS.
2011 was another big year as Hannah Wants began headlining events in the UK. In June, she returned to Ibiza for two months and played at various events / clubs such as Space, Eden, Es Paradis, Hush, Plastik, and Hed Kandi. Upon Hannah’s return from the Balearics, her DJ’ing career and reputation as one of “the UK’s hottest talents” became evident.
In 2012 Hannah played in Germany, toured South Africa, played at events such as Creamfields, Annie Mac Presents, 2.31, Cream 20th Anniversary Tour and has secured national residency mixes on both Rinse FM & Kiss FM.
On April 1st this year Hannah's track with Chris Lorenzo 'Dappy' was released and went straight in at number 3 on the Beatport chart - it has received support from some of the worlds biggest DJ's and is getting plays all over the world.

Although primarily a DJ, Hannah has always had a huge interest in the production of music and some her more recent tracks have been getting international support. Main accreditation has come from her world famous peers (Annie Mac, BTraits, Shadow Child, Justin Martin, Claude Von Stroke, Eats Everything, Kissy Sell Out, Skream but to name a few) who are continuously showing massive support for Hannah playing her tracks across the UK, USA, Canada, Europe and Australia.

In 2013 things are already snowballing for Hannah, with features in worldwide press, gigs locked in NYC and Germany and national radio guest mixes and residencies on Kiss FM, Radio 1 and 1Xtra. Headlining events and festivals around England including: Manchester, Bristol, London, New Quay, Cardiff, Leeds, Bournemouth, Brighton, Leeds, Kent, Birmingham and Exeter to name but a few, and playing at some of the most reputable house music events in the UK such as Fabric London, Troupe at XOYO, The Exchange, Cream, 2.31 and playing alongside the likes of Shadow Child, Skream, Duke Dumont, Ben Pearce, DJ EZ, Hot Since 82, Darius Syrossian, Roska, Woz, Kim Fai, Kry Wolf and Kissy Sell Out.

Hannah said; “It felt amazing. You work hard for years trying to build a profile and reputation, then when you finally start getting recognised by the big artists and radio stations (that you yourself listen to) it makes you feel ridiculously happy knowing that they're feeling your work.”

Hannah will also be in Ibiza this August where she is playing various sets along side many of the worlds biggest DJ's and premiering new tracks along with exciting exclusive collaborations.
2014 is already looking bigger and better for the star with talks of European, American and Australian tours to come plus some major festivals around the world. With her current renowned recognition climbing, new tracks and mixes gaining thousands of new fans weekly; and a personal desire to share her musical style with the world, Hannah is set to gain worldwide prominence as a world class DJ.
